The Lievland Vineyards Old Vine Chenin Blanc shows off the versatility of old vine Chenin Blanc, upon which South Africa has built a strong reputation. Sourced from fruit grown in Paarl, it is a blend of two neighbouring old bush vine, dry-farmed vineyards, one planted in 1976 and the other in 1983. The first giving more stone fruit and mineral characters, the latter giving concentration and texture. Light straw in colour the wine shows notes of white peach, citrus and pineapple on the nose. The palate has a rich and ripe mouthfeel coupled with vibrant acidity which contributes to the lingering zesty finish. The freshness and complexity of this wine will enable it to develop gracefully over the next 5 -7 years.
