Since 1838, Maison Roullet-Fransac has been producing luxury cognacs, liqueurs, and eaux-de-vie of the most superior quality, and in the heart of the Cognac region. Bauchant is one of the original orange liqueurs brought into the US, coming stateside in the early 1970’s. The recipe offers a unique unchanged formula since creation over 40 years ago. The cognac base is a combination of precious reserves of fine quality VS and VSOP Cognac; while the orange flavor profile, a unique creation to the category, uses both bitter and sweet oranges. Competitive products tend to use only a single type of orange. In order to achieve the perfect orange blossom flavor profile, Bauchaunt utilizes 3 different orange varieties -Andalusian, Mandarin, and Tangerine. This combination creates a cohesive nose to palate profile, fresh and light and orange forward, with a slight hint of honey on the finish. Bauchant melds together a soft texture from the aged Cognac and the flavors of orange and honey to generate a flavor that starts and ends fruit forward without diminishing the quality of the category, as it is 40% ABV and may be enjoyed both neat or in a cocktail.
